Le Rassemblement

From Saturday 12th until Monday 14th July, « Le son continu » brings together lovers of traditional instruments, music and dance in the grounds of the château d’Ars near La Châtre in the old province of Berry in central France. At the heart of this event, a showcase of instrument craftsmanship, with more than one hundred exhibitors - makers of hurdy-gurdies, bagpipes, accordions and other instruments and accessories that find their place in the world of acoustic music.

In the château, « Les belles vielleuses » is an exhibition organised by the museum of La Châtre of a collection of hurdy-gurdies donated to the museum by Michèle Fromenteau, with guided visits every day.

A festival village combines traditional music and dance association stands with the beer tent, local craft food producers and a variety of artisan caterers. Close by, travellers from further afield have the benefit of a festival campsite. The castle grounds and festival village are open all day and through the night until the (not so) early hours of the morning ...

We look forward to seeing you!
